This is a traditional Bible Study. The class prayerfully takes turns reading aloud God’s Word section by section, chapter by chapter, book by book, allowing scripture to interpret scripture and keeping in mind the geographical and political contexts of the peoples to whom the Word of God was initially revealed.
Dr. Jurchen will continue this engaging study in-person and over the interwebs. He will be using Blackboard Collaborate, but never fear, it’s easy to use! Follow this link to join the study at 10 a.m. on Sunday: https://us.bbcollab.com/guest/96eb77a32e1b4b02bc59bbcded0bbca1

Sundays, 10am, School Library: Visual Faith

Stephen Ministry

Tuesday, February 16th, 2021

Stephen Ministers contact their care receivers weekly to listen, care, encourage, pray, and provide emotional and spiritual support for the person. Caring relationships last for as long as the person’s need persists. Please pray for our new Stephen Ministers—ask God to bless their ministry and work through them to bring hope and healing to those whom they serve. Pray also for the ongoing ministry of our current Stephen Ministers. Our congregation is one of more than 13,000 worldwide, representing 160 Christian denominations, that use the Stephen Series system of lay caring ministry developed by Stephen Ministries in St. Louis.

Food Accessibility

Friday, March 20th, 2020

Accessibility to food is essential especially during this time when many cannot go out due to COVID-19.

St. John will continue to provide the following:

  •  Christ’s Cupboard remains open its normal days/hours.  (Monday – 3-5 pm, Thursday – 6-8 pm and Saturday 9-11 am.  Beginning Monday June 8, we will resume “client-choice.”  Please read the signs as you approach Christ’s Cupboard.
  •  Lincoln Food Bank Mobile Pantry continues to come to St. John the 4th Tuesday of the month.  Truck will arrive at 4:30 in St. John’s parking lot.  Pre-bagged sacks of food will be distributed to those in need.
  • “Feed My Sheep” meals prepared by St. John’s Board of Human Care are available.  Call the church office 643-2983 or Laurie Sherman 643-0502 if a delivered meal is needed.

If you have donations for Christ’s Cupboard, please place them in the west entrance during the hours of 8am-4pm, Monday through Friday.

(7-29-20) Currently the most needed pantry items are: canned pears, canned tuna, flour, sugar and pancake syrup.
